Both 9-10 Year-Old games tonight, Game 3 at Round Hill Center and Game 4 at Haske Field, were suspended.
Game 3 will be resumed Thursday, June 26, at 4:30pm at RHC. Game 4 will be resumed Thursday, June 26, at 5:30pm at Haske. Games 5 and 6 will follow a half-hour after the continuation games finish.
Pitching
From the Green Book, page T-13, rule 4g.
In a game suspended by darkness, weather, or other causes and resumed the following calendar day, the pitcher of record at the time the game was halted may continue to the extent of his/her eligibility, provided he/she delivered 40 or less pitches, and subject to each of these conditions:
1. If the pitcher delivered 20 or less pitches before the game was suspended, that pitcher’s pitch count will begin at zero for the continuation portion of the game;
2. If the pitcher delivered between 21 and 40 pitches before the game was suspended, that pitcher’s pitch count will begin with the number of pitches delivered in that game;
In Wednesday’s games, all pitchers of record have thrown more than 20 pitches, but only DLLA’s pitcher has thrown more than 40.
The DLLA pitcher of record tonight will not be able to continue pitching tomorrow. Each of the other pitchers may return to the mound Thursday, and their pitch count will begin at the pitch count they left off at (i.e., they threw 22, 33, and 40 tonight, so if they return to the mound Thursday their first pitch will be pitch 23, 34, or 41).
If they return to the mound tomorrow, Friday will be their first calendar day of rest. If they do not, Thursday will be their first calendar day of rest.
Pitchers that pitched Wednesday but have been removed from the mound cannot return to the mound for the remainder of the game on Thursday.
Games 5 and 6
Games 5 and 6 will each start 30 minutes after the continuation game before them ends, but no earlier than their originally scheduled time. Teams can take batting practice as scheduled while the continuation games are being played. They are allowed up to 10 minutes of fielding practice. If the continuation games are underway, coaches at Round Hill Center may wish to use Field #3 for warm-ups in order to expedite the start of their game.
