Three-way tie in LL Tournament

In the Little League Baseball Tournament, Pool B ended in a 3-way tie for second, with Central Loudoun National, Dulles American, and Upper Loudoun National all ending with a 1-2 record. Loudoun South advanced on record (3-0), and Little League tie breakers were applied to determine the the other team to advance.

Head-to-head is the first tie breaker, but each of the teams beat one of the tied teams and lost to the other. Therefore, we used the second tie breaker, Runs Allowed Ratio (runs allowed divided by defensive innings played).

Runs Allowed Ratios

  • CLLLN had 19/14 = 1.16 RAR
  • DLLA had 29/14 = 2.07 RAR
  • ULLLN had 36/16 = 2.25 RAR

By virtue of the lowest Runs Allowed Ratio, CLLLN wins the second tie breaker and advances.

In Pool A, Upper Loudoun American and Dulles National had already advanced.
